Work plan for LICA Design

After college I found myself asking questions about my upcoming future, and I a was feeling like the end of the Finding Nemo movie, where all the fishes got out of the aquarium and ask themselves: “So, now what”. Well, one of those fishes, was me.

The feeling I got after getting my Industrial Designer degree was of uncertainty, not knowing if having a 9 to 5 job was made for me, or if getting my ideas out there in the name of others was satisfying me. I was craving for more, to get my name out there, to experiment, create and fulfill all the dreams and goals I once dream about.

My dream path was go abroad, Germany, and do a master degree in Automotive Design, and spent my days in Mercedes Benz corporation. This dream keep me motivated, though I’m currently persuading another dream I didn’t know I had.

When I entered the “design” world, I encounter many branches and my mind was always thinking about cars, but there was another world out there, one I’ve discovered it’s full of possibilities: interior designing.

What started as a “meanwhile hobby”, ended up as a whole company. I founded LICA Design in 2018, along two other partners who happens to be my sister and my brother in law. (That’s another great story for other time!) With up’s and downs we are starting to create a brand, where I’m putting all my experience and creativeness to produces amazing spaces for my clients.

Interior design is about crafting experiences that one can smell, feel, touch, and at the end stay as a memory that lasts forever.

Interior design goes beyond choosing the right furniture for a space, it’s about the other person, the one who is about to enjoy the space, knowing that every texture, every color I picked for them it’s going to make them feel something… happiness, confort, joy.

Interior Design and LICA Design is now my daily motivator, my passion and and for that I kept preparing myself, studying, reading so that my knowledge help my clients achieve the best scenario they can live on.

Being an entrepreneur it’s not easy task. It’s hard, I don’t remember the last time I’ve slept like a baby, because of all the things that has to be done. But, it has been the most excited moment ever, and if I can give you a piece of advice, here’s one: ask for help, you got this, but you will get higher if you have a support system.

So, here I am, with almost two years in the market, lots of ideas, projects, and clients, ready to the next step.

This is the start of a series of histories that I want to share about interior design, entrepreneurship and life itself. Stick around, and hope you find some inspiration.
